Masterpieces of the Persian Painting at TehranMoCA
The exhibition entitled "Masterpieces of the Persian Painting" will be held on March 2004 at Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art. This exhibition that will be organized in collaberation whith Iranian Cultural Heritage & Turisiums Organization continue for tow month and included: Baysunquri's Shahnameh, Sha Tahmasb's Shahnameh, Moraqqa'-e Golshan, Timuridd Zafarnameh, Sa'di's Gulistan and some masterpieces by masters pf the Persian Painting: Kamaleddin Behzad, Sultan Mohammad, Farhad, Amir Khalil, Mir Mosavvar, Aqa Mirak.

Taha's Birds at Niavaran

A painting exhibiton by Taha Behbehani one of the eminent artists of the forties will be opened on Thursday 30th of September 2004 at Niavaran Cultural Center.

Taha Behbehani, a painter, sculptor, stage designer, play and Television director was born in Tehran in 1947. He was one of the artists who brought a new phase with his Metaphysic Surrealism to painting in the forties.

He has participated in more than 40 national and international solo and group exhibitions. Including 1993 and 1994 in Paris and 1999 in Venezuela and since 2001 has had many exhibitions in U.S.

This exhibition titled Taha’s Birds are; his latest achievements in Metaphysic Surrealism.

This exhibition will be open until 7th of October from 10am to 7pm.

 
 
 


 

The First Official Meeting of the Founders of Visual Arts Critics and Writers Society

The members of the founders of Visual Arts Critics and Writers Society held their official meeting this morning the Tehran MoCA’s Library.

Their meeting focused on their future activities and emphasized on the importance of this society.

The founders of this society consist of some of the best known and highly acclaimed journalists in visual arts in Iran.

 


 

Dr. Sami-Azar at the press conference said:
“The Exhibition, Gardens of Iran is One of The Greatest Artistic Projects in The Country.”

 The press conference for the exhibition, “Gardens of Iran” was held on Saturday 11th of September 2004. Dr. Sami- Azar, (Head of the Visual Art Center and the Museum Director), Dr. Mohit Tabatabaie (the Counselor of the Iranian Cultural Heritage and Tourism Industry & Chairman of the “Persian Garden” Conference), Ms. Faryar Javaherian, (the Exhibition Curator) and artists like; Farshid Mesghali, Parviz Tanavoli, Reza Derakhshani, Ahmad Nadalian and other participating artists in the exhibition and journalists were present in the conference at the Tehran MoCA.

Jamshid Moradian off to an International Art Happening in Italy

Jamshid Mordian and Farah Ordaki two Iranian sculptors will participate in the Annual international Artists Symposium and Art Happening in Italy from 31st of August until the 12th of September 2004.
The symposium is taking place in a Wallona situated between Florence and Pisa on a hill 600 meters above the sea level all covered in flowers.
Their two sculptors will install a statue in the commemoration of Iranian myths called, “Esfandiar” made of Italian pine.
Jamshid Moradian will also speak about the comparison of Western and Eastern myths at the Symposium.
